Art Classes. Ipswich Art classes at my studio are delivered weekly at my residence on Paper Mill Lane. Ipswich. I have students come from all over East Anglia to join me every Tuesday as I pass the knowledge I have collected through experience and my own tuition onto you.
As a well known East Anglia artist, I have received many accolades for my work. I have worked with oils, water colours and pastels over my career and rendered landscapes, flowers, portraits and posthumous portraits from photos. Many of my pieces are held at the Ipswich museum and in even in private collections as far a field as USA and Canada.
Portraits. My own satisfaction in the project is only part of the equation though. The chief aim for me is satisfying the sitters requirements in catching the very essence of a person to their expectation. To that end, I haven’t ever nor ever will allow a portrait to leave my studio unless I have delivered 100% satisfaction to the sitter. This principled approach is hinged in my passion for art and not business which is secondary.
I always start with a meeting to discuss the project and its requirements. It may be that I do not feel that I am the artist for the project in which case I shall recommend another artist if I know of one suited. I have on occasion turned down lucrative commissions because I felt I may not deliver a painting to their satisfaction. The meeting is a very key part of the process as our collective knowledge of the sitter coupled with my own experience draws out the relevant information that helps me plan the commission.
