Arundel Arboretum has over the years, supplied quality stock for all purposes, for example screenage from overlooking properties. We have a wide variety of evergreen standard, half-standard and bush screening trees and shrubs. In recent years, as instant screenage has become more of a concern for many of our clients, we have endeavoured to also stock a large number of varieties of hedging for screenage.
Before making a decision about the type of tree or shrub you require – evergreen or deciduous, research is most important. You need to consider your soil type, its pH level, how wet or dry your ground is, whether you face north, south, east or west, how close to the sea you may be, as a salt wind can devastate some varieties.
All of the above are very important points to consider when choosing a plant for your garden. If you are in any doubt about a choice of plant, please do ask for our advice when visiting our nursery – we are very happy to help you and would want to ensure that you have made the correct decision for your circumstances.
