I'm an editor and proofreader with more than 25 years' experience, particularly in the business, academic and science publishing areas. Since going freelance I have worked on everything from PhD theses to annual reports to a sociology textbook - basically, if it's in English, I can check it!
As an advanced professional member of the Society for Editors and Proofreaders I adhere to high standards, and charge reasonable rates in-line with the industry average. If an hourly/daily rate is too unpredictable for your budgeting I'm fine with agreeing a total cost in advance.
My background is in biomedicine and the pharmaceutical industry, so this type of content doesn't faze me. In addition to standard proofreading and editing I am also happy to check websites - anything from a quick proof to in-depth UAT - perform secondary research, fact check etc. Anything that requires patience and a good eye for detail is fine.
I can work late nights, over bank holidays and weekends, and on an emergency basis, whether you need my help for half an hour (e.g. to check a CV or interview presentation) or for a project that could take several months (e.g. getting your social media/blogging presence off the ground).
