Company description
Ben’s Plaice Looe is the award-winning flagship ‘Ben’s Plaice’ fish and chip shop in the beautiful seaside town of Looe, Cornwall. It has been awarded the accolade of ‘Best Fish & Chips Shop in Cornwall’ by Cornwall Live. Extremely popular with both tourists and locals alike, it is known for serving freshly cooked, quality food, including both a traditional ‘fish & chips’ menu, plus an interesting and varied ‘weekly specials’ menu, including desserts. They are also licenced to sell alcohol. Pre-ordering for collection is available by phone.
In addition to their traditional fish and chips (with their signature light and crispy batter) and the usual ‘chippy’ offerings, they include food for gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan dietary requirements. The weekly specials board gives customers the chance to choose from a selection of alternative dishes to cater for the palette of any hard and fast ‘foodies.’ In addition to savoury food, they freshly bake gooey ‘brownies of the week’ and have cheesecakes and other sweet treats on the specials board, so follow their Facebook page for the latest list!
Ben’s Plaice use local farmers, award-winning butchers and local fisheries, as sourcing locally, using quality fish, meat, potatoes & produce, whilst supporting the Cornish economy is vital. They sell the best Icelandic Cod, which is fished from deep waters, and all fish is MSC certified. If and when they are able to get it, they serve different types of fish, such as Monkfish, Lemon Sole or Scallops – but be quick, as they are always in high demand!
