Company description
Ben’s Plaice Millbrook is a subsidiary of the award-winning Ben’s Plaice in Looe, serving fish and chips and quality takeaway food on the Rame Peninsula, 7 days a week. Pre-ordering is available by phone, for collection only. The location is not only ideal for the locals, but also for tourists staying in and around Kingsand & Cawsand, and the trainee sailors at nearby HMS Raleigh.
In addition to traditional fish and chips (with their signature light and crispy batter) and the usual ‘chippy’ items, they also cater for gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan dietary needs. The regular fish and chips menu is extended with a weekly specials board, and offers a variety of alternative dishes to excite the palette of the most adventurous foodie. Not only do Ben’s Plaice sell savoury food, they also freshly bake gooey ‘brownies of the week’ and often have cheesecakes and other sweet treats on the specials board.
Sourcing local, quality ingredients, and supporting the Cornish economy is important, and as such, Ben’s Plaice use local farmers, award-winning butchers and local fisheries wherever possible. They use the best Icelandic Cod from deep waters, and the variety of fish on the menu is MSC certified. When available, you can find species such as Monkfish, Lemon Sole or Scallops on the menu – but be quick, as they are always in high demand!
See the fish and chips menu on the website. Follow the ‘Ben’s Plaice Millbrook’ facebook page to see the ever-changing weekly deals and specials, or pop in to see the specials board in their shop on West Street.
