BIO: My name is Laura Dodimead and I am an experienced AWARD WINNING Cake Artist , Baker & Tutor. With a creative past of interior design, upholstery and window dressing I was always looking for my next creative challenge. My hobby of baking fast became my full focus and a way of out laying my artistic flair alongside being a full time mother of two daughters.
I challenge myself daily with new and unusual cake designs using unique and exciting techniques for magazines and books. I have been very lucky to have had the opportunity to get my work published in many magazines all around the world. Some include Cakes & Sugarcraft, Cake Masters, Cake International, Cake Geek, Brilliant Baking, American Cake Decoration, Australian Cake Decoration, Cake Decorating Heaven, Prima Makes, Country Homes & Interiors & Mollie Makes amongst others.
My passion for modelling, airbrushing and painting continues to grow and I have worked as a tutor for Squires Kitchen and The Cake Makery. I have filmed tutorials for Paul Bradford and also been a guest demonstrator on the Craft Channel on Rosie’s Crafty Kitchen in 2016. I love that I get to share my skills with others. I was extremely chuffed to be crowned Kirsty Allsop’s cake champion on channel 4 in 2015 and I also won GOLD at Cake International in 2016 for my decorative exhibit of the BFG.
