Friends for Thailand is a dedicated team of former volunteers, that through tireless work have managed to establish projects that hugely benefit from the work volunteers do. Over several years we have helped to place hundreds of volunteers in projects that are clean, safe, friendly and most importantly have a very genuine need for volunteers.
The schools are selected based on their needs as well as our ability to offer help. Unfortunately, we are unable to support all the schools that make contact with us. We have seen steady growth in the number of volunteers joining our program and continue to be inspired by the people that generously donate their time to helping others.
The tireless work of our staff, as well as people that support us, has allowed us to give a vital lifeline to underprivileged children and schools.
We only place volunteers in schools that without volunteers would have no access to native English speakers. For a lot of the children, volunteers are the first foreigners that they will meet. Thanks to volunteers we have achieved incredible things and now are able to maintain good working equipment, teaching materials, resources and have even purchased projectors.
Buddhism is an integral part of Thai society. Volunteering your time in temple schools gives you the opportunity to learn firsthand how temples throughout the country give children the opportunity to study. You will also learn about the principals of Buddhism and have the chance to join in prayers, ceremonies and meditation.
