Company description
Home & Company is owned and managed by Julie Gibson and Loretta Harrison.
We have worked together for the past twenty years. We previously owned and ran a national organisation which promoted best practice across health and social care through training, events and publications. We also have experience of working in the NHS and voluntary sector.
In 2012 we both experienced the social care system for ourselves, finding help for members of our own family. It left us feeling that there could be more choice. We wanted a different sort of service, and so Home & Company was born. We wanted something that was very personal, where clients were carefully matched with their helper and could build a relationship with that person. We wanted to find helpers that had a bit of life experience, could cook good food (a topic close to our hearts!), had great communication skills, could drive, and could support people in a more holistic way to help them get the best out of their lives.
We also thought more broadly about what would help people who want to stay living independently at home, and so in addition to our home help team we work with a fantastic group of specialists to provide building & decorating, gardening, home security, window cleaning, foot care, hair & beauty and more.
Over the past eight years we’ve been on a journey with more than 300 clients and as their needs have changed we’ve been able to help them with their next steps.
We have had fantastic feedback from clients, families and their representatives and it’s made us feel so pleased to have embarked on Home & Company.
