Acupuncture involves the insertion of very fine needles into specific points on the body to regulate the flow of 'qi', (pronounced 'chee') your body's vital energy. For a number of lifestyle and environmental reasons, qi can become disturbed, depleted or blocked, which can result in some symptoms of pain and illness, acupuncture can be an effective therapy to help restore balance and promote physical and emotional harmony.
Treatment is aimed at the root of your condition as well as your main symptoms. This approach helps with resolving your problem and enhancing your feeling of wellbeing. You may notice other niggling problems resolve as your main health complaint improves.
Traditional Acupuncture may be beneficial where people feel unwell without being 'ill' in the Western sense. It can also be used as a preventative treatment, aimed at maintaining health on all levels of body, mind and spirit.Judy decided to pursue a career in acupuncture after experiencing the positive change that it had on her own lifestyle and wellbeing, this was complimented by her own previous experience in western medicine, coming from a background in nursing.
Judy obtained her Licentiate in Acupuncture, and BA (Hons) degree in Traditional Acupuncture, in the classical Five Element style, from the internationally renowned College of Traditional Acupuncture, Warwickshire.
Judy treats patients with a diverse range of conditions and is a member of the British Acupuncture Council; as such Judy abides by the Council's Code of Safe Practice and Code of Professional Conduct, and is covered by full professional indemnity insurance in addition to a licence to practice acupuncture. All personal information is treated in the strictest confidence in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1988.
Judy continues to update her practice skills by attending courses, workshops and other programmes that offer continuing professional development.
