Company description
Michael is a graduate economist from Sheffield University and qualified as a Chartered Accountant during his 5 years with the UK’s largest professional services firm and global giant, PwC (formerly PricewaterhouseCoopers). Post qualification, Michael decided to specialise in insolvency and corporate recovery obtaining his licence as an Insolvency Practitioner during his 6 years working, ultimately as a senior manager, within the Restructuring practice of Ernst & Young another global professional services firm. Also during this time Michael was seconded for an 18 month period to the business support unit of a major clearing bank where he honed his business rescue and turnaround skills from a lender’s perspective.
In 1998, Michael founded Chamberlain & Co, a boutique insolvency and business turnaround practice, to provide big firm experience and leading edge rescue techniques to entrepreneurs in the SME market. The advice provided often covers both business and personal financial distress situations as the two are often interlinked in the SME market.
