Pant y Bedw fishery is a beautiful site located in a rural but very accessible location with extremely good access from the A48/M4/A40.
The lakes are nestled in a natural bowl surrounded by woodland on 3 sides. Challenger lake is currently stocked with rainbow and brown trout, minimum size 2lb. Excellent fishing for both the experienced to novice angler.
The Fishery is located approximately 5 miles east of Carmarthen and 2 miles from the A48 just past the Welsh Botanic Gardens.
Pant Y Bedw Fishery, near Nantgaredig, is South Wales best kept secret. Weed is under control . This is a quiet and beautiful lake, which under new management, has been stocked with over 350 trout since April. In the last week catches of over 25lb have been recorded and several catches in excess of 12lbs. Both rainbow trout and blues are being caught. Eirig had 4 rainbows on buzzers, Tony from Llandieo had 2 spells of fishing had a catch of 11 fish and 8 fish. A mixture of rainbows and blues caught on buzzers, Shipmans buzzer, floating boobie, shuttle cock and a blob. Biggest fish just over 3 pound. Dave from 5 Roads caught 5 fish on Diawl Bach which included a 3 ½ pound blue trout. Arthur caught 3 blues and 7 rainbows all in the region of 2.5 pound.
Pant Y Bedw fishery does allow worming under certain circumstances especially if it is encouraging youngsters to fish as well as for the older generation that cannot fly fish anymore. This is by prior arrangement only so please ring before hand.
