Sean Heydon - Unreliable, unprofessional, dreadful communication. AVOID!!
I'm a wedding planner and got in touch with Sean to see it he could perform at my bride and grooms reception.
He replied to me explaining he was personally booked but told me he has other magicians on his books and told me about one that was available and so I decided to book and paid Sean my deposit. After several emails reminding Sean to send me a booking confirmation, the actual confirmation Sean sent was very odd. It was a photograph of a piece of paper hand scrawled with the name of the magician and a tick indicating it was booked.
As a wedding planner, I'm used to seeing slightly more professional confirmations and so tried to contact the magician directly to make sure it was booked and to introduce myself.
The magician took some getting hold of but after about a month of trying I finally spoke to him and was shocked to discover that although he knew Sean HE KNEW NOTHING OF MY BOOKING and couldn't do the wedding anyway! He also told me Sean is known for being disorganised and wasn't surprised by my experience!
When I contacted Sean he made some lame excuses and said he had 'meant' to tell me but forgot and said he'd get another magician.
After yet more emails badgering him to give me the details of the other magician, he finally suggested one who I spoke to (I want to speak to the magician first given my previous bad experience). I then emailed Sean to agree to this new magician and asked for confirmation that he was booked and that the deposit had been transferred to him.
No reply.
Emailed again.
No reply yet again.
Emailed again telling him how his lack of communication was just unacceptable and given the initial experience I now just didn't trust that the booking would be honoured and I wanted my deposit back.
He never actually replied to me but copied me in to an email to the other magician saying "I thought you spoke to her?".
After ANOTHER 5 EMAILS asking for my money back WITH NO REPLY, I got in touch with Paypal who I'd luckily paid through and they investigated in my favour and I finally got my deposit back.
My experience with Sean was absolutely horrific. He is quite literally the most disorganised and worst communicator I have ever come across and I wouldn't trust him with any of my brides and grooms money. He may well be a good magician but I'd stay well away and find someone else more professional and more likely to honour your booking. Your wedding day and it's run up is stressful enough without chasing up suppliers who won't reply or worrying that your supplier is even going to turn up!
