I worked closely with families who lived too far away to provide hands on help for a loved one and also on a one to one basis with my clients, visiting them as many times as they required... Here is a list of just some of the things that I can provide :-
Companionship for the elderly/lonely/housebound to include hourly sitting or short walks.
Light duties such as general household chores, light gardening, meal preparation etc.
Home administration - organising filing, paying bills, banking and transfer of funds via third party mandate, switching utility companies, organising new computer/white goods (including installation), setting up internet ,mobile phone, Managing home finances such as stocks/shares/pensions/investments/personal tax allowance/annual returns and applying for funds/benefits. Form filling including application for attendance/care allowance and typing letters/emails.
Help with vehicle management - purchasing a car, selling a car, applying for tax/MOT. Application for Disability badges
Help with movement from home into residential care to include arrangement of house sale, all negotiations through estate agents, sale of personal property (auction/private sales), organisation of house clearance/house clean before sale
Shopping for clothing, personal items and medical requirements.
Liaising with doctor/hospital/Age concern. Organisation of walking aids/specialist medical equipment. Hospital stay preparation.
Organisation of handyman to install key safe. Also personal and home safety alarms, stairlifts and disability aid adaption.
Arranging hairdressing/chiropodist appointments/gardening.
