I booked a guitar via Direct Courier Solutions to be picked up in Northern Ireland and to be delivered to Scotland and paid insurance for the value of £2000. A DPD van picked it up and took it away. Over the next day I heard nothing from Direct Courier Solutions at all. The next day (the day it was supposed to arrive) the recipient phoned DPD to see where the guitar was. He was told that I needed to pay more money as it was coming from Northern Ireland. The website had let me book a Northern Ireland to Scotland delivery for the price I paid. I phoned Direct Courier Solutions and was told to pay the extra money or they would send it back to be. The lady was very agressive, in my opinion. I paid the extra and they told me it would be there the next business day though maybe the day after. The recipient contacted DPD to tell them that he would not be in and told them to leave the guitar at a neighbour's house. The DPD van did arrive, but the driver seemed to know nothing about the neighbour's address and left the guitar sitting out in the pouring rain beside the front door for all the world to see and drove off. Later in the day a neighbour was driving past and saw it. The box was completely destroyed. The neighbour took it into her house. Fortunately the guitar was not damaged. The next day the DPD driver came BACK again and told the recipient that he had lost the guitar. The recipient, being an honest person, said that he had it. What had happened was the driver had found the house empty, had left the guitar down to take a photo of the house to prove he had been there (common practice apparently) and had driven off but had forgotten he had left the guitar. Horrendous service. I spoke to Direct Courier Solutions re some compensation for such useless service and was told there was nothing they could do. PLEASE NEVER USE THESE COWBOYS
