I initially wrote that Edworthy Computing fitted an old and dusty power supply instead of the new one, with a £27 charge for the power supply and £55 for labour. Edworthy Computers promptly phoned me up the following day, apologised, and explained that the shop assistant had failed to pass on a message: "that a reconditioned power supply had been fitted temporarily until the new power supply arrived, and could be exchanged now that the new one had arrived". It is a pity that this message wasn't passed on at the time the computer was first collected with the reconditioned power supply fitted. They've now fitted the new power supply which I'll inspect when I return home to Devon.

Edworthy Computing appear to have ripped off my brother when his computer's PSU failed. We asked them to check the computer and fit a new PSU if needed. They charged £27 for the PSU which they ordered and £55 for labour which seem about right (a new PSU costs £10 for a cheap one, £30 for a decent 600W one) but the PSU they fitted wasn't the new we asked for but but a second hand one that'd been running in another computer for at least a year and collected a large amount of dust. I'm currently chasing this up with the company. I'm a qualified Electronic Engineer and very experienced system builder and administrator so can safely say that we've been let down. Unfortunately I wasn't able to do this work myself as I don't live near them and couldn't visit in time.
