Should you be considering buying furniture from Roger James Furnishers of Swadlincote, Derbyshire, BE WARNED !!
We purchased two leather sofas and a footstool manufactured by Italsofa (Natuzzi) from Roger James Furnishers. Within a matter of weeks the seats on the one sofa that we had been using collapsed (we are not overweight people). We rejected the furniture under the Sale of Goods Act, but Roger James Furishers claimed their only obligation was to offer a repair. We refused this and decided to take court action.
After more than two years and 8 court hearings, we were awarded a full refund plus our costs. There were three reports on this furniture, one by the manufaturers' representative and two independent expert reports ordered by the court, all showing that the sofa was faulty.
We have not had the common courtesy of an apology from Roger James Furnishers or Natuzzi.
